I opened one of the dll files in Resource Hacker, and they contain the sounds for the screensavers.

If you rename the extension from scr to exe you can get to the properties, but that's not much help. Still trying to figure out why some of the screen savers only show a black screen.

Most of the screen savers work fine except for those you listed, and the icons, cursors, wallpapers, etc of course are perfectly useable. I could not get the installer to work no matter what I tried, so I extracted the cab files using WinRAR. the files, so you need to add the extra "me" onto the extension to get them to show up in the themes list and work. The games work perfectly fine, as do the screensavers no hacks needed.

I chose custom install and only installed the themes and games. Simply set the setup.exe file to run in Windows 98 compatibility mode and it will let you install it. Screensavers that do not work from earlier Plus! #MICROSOFT PLUS XP WINDOWS 10 HOW TO#
I have found how to trick to install but since I have all the registry entries, that is not needed. I must be having a problem with clarity this evening.
#MICROSOFT PLUS XP WINDOWS 10 UPDATE#
Yes, I have already implied that I realized that by wishing for an update to the Plus! XP to include the old themes/screensavers. I have Plus! XP installed arleady as well as the DME Version. I am talking about running Plus!98 on Windows XP and the problem's associated with it. I am not talking about Windows Me or Windows 98, otherwise I would post in another forum. There is no Plus! Pack update for XP in Microsoft Product. This Plus! Pack refers to Plus!98, not Plus!XP which is why the update for XP is there. Note: I wish Microsoft would release this Plus! Pack, updated for XP, etc. asked about the Plus! Pack that was sold an extra component for Windows 98/Me The tags on the post on Microsoft?s website say it all.

Microsoft added Buy Now Pay Later into Edge (and so Windows 10 and 11 base OS), a thing which is known to be abused to harm people. Others have pointed to the fact Edge is provided with all copies of Windows 10 and 11 - meaning this change potentially affects billions of devices. "Please reconsider and offer this as an extension if it needs to exist at all."Ĭriticism of the move has centred on the fact BNPL can cause issues for those who are tempted into a payment plan they cannot keep up with, and whose credit ratings can be damaged if a payment is missed. It's unwanted bloat and an obvious cash grab," one user commented at the time. "This is not a feature that should be native in any browser. But, as of today, these changes are now arriving publicly, to anyone with Edge's v64 update. Microsoft first announced these plans a couple of weeks ago for the development build of its browser, Microsoft Edge Canary. It's here some Edge users are now seeing Zip's BNPL offer advertised, with the ability to split payment into four instalments over six weeks. Think how a browser may suggest a previously-used credit card when paying currently.

Microsoft has signed a deal with third-party BNPL company Zip (previously Quadpay) to feature the sign-up option on retail checkout pages at browser level, for any purchase Edge detects between $35 to $1000. The option allows Edge to suggest a sponsored BNPL payment method when customers begin entering their card numbers into retail sites - even if specific sites do not offer it natively. Microsoft has sparked criticism for baking a "buy now, pay later" (BNPL) option into its Edge web browser, beginning in the US.
